Etidorhpa - or, The End of Earth

Complete and unabridged, with 18 full-page plates by Johan Christian Dahl, Anders Andersen-Lundby and Théophile de Bock. A man is taken beneath the surface of the earth by a guide with no eyes, through caverns, fungus forests and a place where gravity reverses. Lloyd was a pharmacist of standing who filled the book with real chemistry and one enormous joke - read the title backwards. This edition binds eighteen plates of moonlit and mountain painting by Vasnetsov, Boberg, Palm and Dahl, and restores all forty-two of the original illustrations in colour.
