Multiversal - Havok Season 12

Twelve characters. Infinite universes. Within these pages, you’ll find a collection of wildly diverse stories written by Havok’s 2025 flash fiction contest winners . In an innovative collaboration with all-star authors, each story demonstrates an unforgettable side to one of twelve characters. As a bonus, we’re excited to include the contest-winning artwork for each character, once again breaking new ground for a Havok publication. Meet the paunchy, bumbling Mr. Fixit known as Joe Enza (created by Kerry Neitz of Amish Vampires in Space fame) who travels through time to reclaim his parking spot. Kytt Windthorn (Nadine Brandes, Wishtress ), the young, honorable thief with a chip on her shoulder, uses the buddy system to survive hordes of post-apocalyptic zombies. Spark Spaulding (Ben Wolf, Rickshaw Riot ) is a flashy, silver-tongued, free-spirited rogue who hates pickles. Don’t miss his run-in with a Egyptian mummy or his escape from Albanue’s prison sewers. A witty, thrill-seeker with a knack for disguises who goes by Zaivar Witz (Jill Williamson, Blood of Kings series) uses his bounty hunter skills to outsmart the steampunk pirate Captain Gearlock and hunt down the legendary Kytt Windthorn. And Phezznibbet Maplebark (Rebecca P. Minor, The Rending Cauldron ) may be a two-foot-tall squirrel, but his sword fighting skills are only matched by his unyielding honor and his weakness for cheese. He can be found befriending a persistent poltergeist to run a paradoxical inn. Ethel Grieves (Kara Swanson, Ignite ), an unassuming, four-eyed, freckle-faced pragmatist outsmarts the competition to further her family’s criminal empire. And don’t forget Miriel Takkenridge (Gillian Bronte Adams, Of Fire and Ash ), the enigmatic grandma who journeys into the enchanted Bramblewood with her magical knitting needles and her trusty Saint Bernard to claim a legendary lantern and save the world. Yes, there will be crossovers, and we’re here for it! Rounded out by three “celebrity” personalities from the public domain ( Alice of Wonderland fame, Dorian Gray , and Ebenezer Scrooge ) and two characters created by award-winning Havok authors J. M. Allison ( Harmony Star ) and Olivia Gratehouse ( Luke James, aka Therrus ), this motley crew has come together in one of our most ambitious anthologies yet. These sixty-three unforgettable tales spanning five genres (science fiction, fantasy, mystery, thriller, and humor) will leave you feeling like you’ve just taken a trip across the multiverse. So hop in and hold on tight, because this is going to be a ride you’ll never forget!
